Alberto Piña, the talented San Francisco star, suffered a tender elbow yesterday in the game with the Expos, which could keep him out of today's lineup. "I'm a bit banged up," said the 35-year-old reliever, "but we won't know until game time if I can play or not." Piña got hurt while throwing a pitch. The team doctor said he could be out up to 1-2 weeks.
Year-to-date Piña has 5 saves in 55 relief appearances with a 2-2 record and 3.06 ERA.

| Monday, September 12th, 2033: McLaughlin on a Hot Streak, NL Player of the Week
National pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Samuel McLaughlin, but to no avail.
His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .469 for the week to win the NL Player of the Week Award. The San Francisco first baseman cracked 15 hits in 32 at-bats, 5 home runs, drove in 15 runs and scored 7 times.
So far this season McLaughlin is hitting .350 with 48 home runs, 168 RBIs and 131 runs scored. He has 209 hits in 597 at-bats and a .396 OBP.

| Thursday, September 1st, 2033: NL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Hot-hitting Myles Straw of the San Francisco Giants garnered the Rookie of the Month honors for August in the National.
Posting a .345 average last month, he collected 40 hits, 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
