| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 9th, 2030: Injury Forces Carlos Espinoza Out
Spokane fans held their breath as Carlos Espinoza left yesterday's Chaos-Landslide contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 24-year-old reliever had suffered back spasms while throwing a pitch. It's estimated that he will be out 1-2 weeks.
In 2030 Espinoza has no saves in 26 relief appearances with a 2-1 record and 4.08 ERA. |
 | Tuesday, July 9th, 2030: O'Dell Sidelined, Listed DTD by Riverside
It's a long season, and everyone picks up some cuts and bruises along the way. The latest star to be suffering this year is Ben O'Dell of the Riverside Gamma Rays, who suffered a finger blister while throwing a pitch in yesterday's contest against Hinesville. While he could play through the injury, it's unclear whether or not the Riverside organization will risk that or simply sit him out for the 1-2 weeks the injury is expected to last.
His record this year is 1-and-1 with 3 saves and a 6.17 ERA. O'Dell has given up 39 hits in 35 innings with 19 strikeouts. |

This week Bill Shaw, left fielder for the Raleigh Trojans, hit everything in sight to win the Sub League 2 Player of the Week trophy.
He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .409 average and .458 on-base percentage. Shaw logged 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, 2 walks and scored 5 times.
His current batting average stands at .312 and he has chalked up 6 home runs and 36 RBIs. |
