|Tuesday, September 28th, 2027: 5-Hit Game for Gamel!|
It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Ben Gamel -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Skydome and paced the Blue Jays to a 9-2 win over the Anaheim Angels.
After his dynamite batting performance the Toronto center fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
B. Gamel singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off M. Quintana in the 9th.
Gamel is currently batting .371 with 14 home runs and 64 RBIs.
|Saturday, September 25th, 2027: Third Baseman Millard Leach Out|
It took the Toronto team doctor a while to realize it, but third baseman Millard Leach won't simply play through bruised ribs after he got hurt colliding with a player at a base in today's Yankees-Blue Jays game. At first, it looked like Leach might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Leach as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
Presently Leach is batting .287 with 131 hits and 18 home runs. He has knocked in 70 runs and scored 95 times.

In 2027 O'Hawley is hitting .293, batted in 88 runs with 32 home runs and 70 runs scored.
