Sunday, July 20th, 2031: Number 2000 for Hardin!
John Hardin of the Los Angeles Dodgers collected career hit number 2000 against the Atlanta Braves today. The 33-year-old first baseman went 2 for 4 in a 5-1 Los Angeles victory at Dodger Stadium.

Hardin has a career .312 batting average with a .388 OBP. He has hit 366 homers, driven in 1291 runs and scored 1283 runs since he came into the league.
Tuesday, July 8th, 2031: Lambert Goes 6-7
"Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Ambrose Lambert told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well."

It definitely turned out well for the Cincinnati shortstop today as he collected 6 hits in 7 at-bats against Atlanta. But not so good for his team, as the Braves took the game at Cinergy Field, whipping the Reds 12-11.

A. Lambert grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run double in the 9th, singled in the 10th and doubled in the 12th.

So far this season Lambert has hit .331 with 11 home runs, 49 RBIs and and scored 58 times.
Tuesday, July 1st, 2031: National Announces Best Starter
When Juan Sánchez takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Atlanta victory. At least that's the way it was in May.

He excelled with a 4-0 mark and a 2.55 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 35.1 innings, fanned 32 and held the hitters to a .208 average.

That's why the Braves star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the National.

This season Sánchez has crafted a 8-5 mark with a 5.60 ERA in 90 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .251 against him and he has 74 strikeouts.
