Breaking News |  | Thursday, April 25th, 2030: Harper on Fire, 5-5 Against Pittsburgh Wayne Harper really sizzled at the plate today. The Montreal catcher blistered the Pittsburgh Pirates for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his club's 13-6 defeat.
"Harper was too tough to get out today," the Pirates skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win. That's the bottom line. We ain't playin' for stats."
W. Harper singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this season Harper is hitting .263 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 76 at-bats and a .371 OBP. |  | Tuesday, April 23rd, 2030: Bad News for Montreal, Ed McClellan Injured It took the Montreal team doctor a while to realize it, but shortstop Ed McClellan won't simply play through a damaged meniscus after he got hurt throwing the ball in today's Pirates-Expos game. At first, it looked like McClellan might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of McClellan as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
So far in 2030, McClellan is batting .329 with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs. |  | Friday, March 1st, 2030: Montreal-Oakland Deal: Miller for The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Montreal Expos sent 26-year old minor league starting pitcher Dylan Miller to the Oakland Athletics for the 1rst pick of the 2030 draft (11th pick overall).
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
Thus far in his career, Miller has put up a won-loss record of 4-10.
