| Breaking News | | Monday, October 2nd, 2034: Rodriguez 2034 NL Batting Champ
The 2034 National batting champion is Julio Rodriguez of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He just closed out an impressive season with a .374 average. His consistency at the plate was a prime reason the 29-year-old left fielder beat out the competition. A slump was a rare occurence for him.
Playing in 152 games, Rodriguez contributed 225 hits, 48 home runs and 162 RBIs to the Pirates attack. |
| Sunday, October 1st, 2034: Wright Takes NL Top Starter Trophy
The National scribes have announced September's Pitcher of the Month and have given the award to Kyle Wright of Pittsburgh. He was one tough cookie on the mound last month with a fine 4-1 mark to prove it.
The Pittsburgh star made 5 starts with a 1.64 ERA and surrendered 26 hits in 33 innings. He struck out 42 and walked 11.
This year Wright has compiled a 16-4 mark with a 3.54 ERA in 33 starts. |
| Sunday, October 1st, 2034: Voit Awarded September's NL Top Bat Prize
Luke Voit has been the model of consistency over the past month and has been a tough out, claiming the National Batter of the Month trophy for September.
The Pittsburgh first baseman hit .367 with 14 home runs, 29 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He was also walked 32 times and posted a .523 on-base percentage.
This year Voit is batting .356 with 211 hits, 70 home runs, 175 RBIs, 149 walks, .483 OBP and has scored 183 runs. |
