Thursday, April 25th, 2030: Harper on Fire, 5-5 Against Pittsburgh
Wayne Harper really sizzled at the plate today. The Montreal catcher blistered the Pittsburgh Pirates for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his club's 13-6 defeat.
"Harper was too tough to get out today," the Pirates skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win. That's the bottom line. We ain't playin' for stats."
W. Harper singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this season Harper is hitting .263 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 76 at-bats and a .371 OBP.
Wednesday, April 17th, 2030: Hit Parade! Alvarez Pops 5 Hits!
All game long Seattle's Yordan Alvarez was rattling the walls at Kingdome / Safeco Field and banging out base hits against the Pittsburgh Pirates. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Mariners had a 20-5 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 26-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

Monday, April 15th, 2030: Muncy Goes 6-7
Max Muncy told the press after his 6-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Muncy of the Pittsburgh Pirates did against the Seattle Mariners. He went to the plate 7 times and 6 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Mariners, who suffered a 24-6 defeat.
"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."
M. Muncy singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off P. Bingham in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off A. Matos in the 8th.
