| | Wednesday, April 10th, 2030: Valdéz Slams 5 Hits for New York There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Jorge Valdéz of the New York Yankees had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 14-4 win over the San Diego Padres at Yankee Stadium II.
The 20-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
J. Valdéz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Presently Valdéz is batting .324 and has collected no home runs, 2 RBIs, .395 OBP and scored 8 runs. | | Monday, April 8th, 2030: San Diego's Anderson Injured The San Diego Padres will have to make do without Lou Anderson for 2 months. He suffered a torn back muscle while throwing a pitch in the game today against the New York Yankees. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the reliever. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Anderson will miss 2 months.
