|Thursday, June 10th, 2027: Cooper and Cleveland Extend Contract|
At a midafternoon press conference, Cleveland Indians officials flanked Jason Cooper and announced they had reached an extension with the 34-year-old starting pitcher.
Terms include a $23,500,000 salary distributed over 2 years.
This year-to-date Cooper has 3 wins and 3 losses and a 4.30 ERA.

"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what Cleveland first baseman Tony White said to SION reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Seattle Mariners at Jacobs Field. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."
The Indians had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 16-0.
T. White singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
For 2027 White is batting .333 with 14 home runs, 47 RBIs and 42 runs scored.

Cleveland's Jason Cooper breezed through the Mariners lineup today, collecting a 1-hit shutout and a 16-0 victory along the way. Cooper fanned 12 as well.
"I didn't really feel like I had my game today," Cooper confessed, "but some days are like that -- you just gotta go with what you have."
To date in 2027, Cooper sports a 2-3 mark with a 4.21 ERA in 8 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .218 batting average and has 47 strikeouts in 47 innings.
