A red-hot bat made Miguel Díaz the obvious choice for this week's Sub League 2 Player of the Week.
The White Oak second baseman laid down some numbers that no one else could match, including a .552 average, 16 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Say no more...he got the award.

Buffalo's Bryce Schall nabbed the latest Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award for his batting prowess this past week.
Posting a hefty .560 average with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 5 runs scored, the 20-year-old is the toast of Buffalo right now.

 | Thursday, April 6th, 2034: Frey 5-6 for Bremerton
After the Bremerton 14-1 victory over Bogalusa and his 5-hit day right fielder Len Frey told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 23-year-old player gained that distinction today at Ballpark of Bremerton with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Bogalusa Squires.
The skipper of the Marvels spoke glowingly of Frey, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Len did that to perfection today."
L. Frey singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off A. Bustamante in the 9th.
Thus far this year Frey has hit .500 with 1 home run and 9 RBIs. |
