|Monday, September 26th, 2022: Hooray for Harris! Hammers 5 Hits!|
On top of the Cleveland hit parade today was Daniel Harris. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Indians to a 14-11 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-6 performance.
The sweet swinging second baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Reds wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
D. Harris grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off G. Martínez in the 10th.
This season Harris has hit at a .310 clip and produced 126 RBIs, 22 home runs and 119 runs scored.

"Believe it or not," said Cleveland second baseman Daniel Harris, "they threw me some good pitches today."
That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Athletics with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the Oakland manager, who saw his team fall to the Cleveland Indians, 10-5.
"Hats off to him!"
Thus far in 2022 Harris is batting .311 with 20 home runs, 118 RBIs and 110 runs scored.

It was a banner day for Chris Davis, who collected his 3000th hit in the Atlanta 5-4 win over Cleveland. Davis went 1-5 in the game as both Braves and Indians fans cheered Davis, when he reached base after his historic hit.
"It feels great to get #3000," Davis said afterward, "especially since we won the game."
In his all-time stats Davis is hitting .309 with 3000 hits, 765 home runs, 1917 runs scored and 2054 RBIs.
